Markus Kaarlonen, commonly known as Captain or Kapu (born 16 November 1973), is the keyboardist, synth programmer and pianist of Poets of the Fall. He portrays Tor Anderson from PotF's alter-ego band Old Gods of Asgard in Alan Wake II.
He is heavily involved in the production and day-to-day operations of the band and label. He is an avid photographer. Poets of the Fall's social media presences are operated by Captain.
Music career[]
His early break in the industry was in the Amiga Mod music scene of the early 1990s, under the pseudonym Captain - a nickname that has stuck around ever since. During that period he released some of the most well known Mods ever created including Space Debris and Beyond Music. Kaarlonen produced for Aikakone and worked as a senior web developer and audio designer at Futuremark. He met Marko Saaresto and Olli Tukiainen while working as an audio engineer at Remedy Entertainment on Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. He scored the games Shattered Horizon and Rochard.
